Concussions & Nose Breathing

Remarkable results achieved by combining these techniques with Cranial Osteopathic Functional manual medicine and vestibular therapy for post-concussion patients.

In this episode, Dr. Jenny Hobson and Dr. Martha Cortes interview Cynthia Stein, PT.  Learn from this skilled physical therapist how this technique can change the lives of people with post-concussion syndrome, difficulty breathing through the nose, headaches and TMD patients and more.  Both Dr. Jenny Hobson  and Dr. Martha Cortes have taken Cynthia’s course.  Dr. Jenny has had amazing results by utilizing this technique with Cranial Osteopathic Functional manual medicine and vestibular therapy for her post concussion patients.

They review the different types of concussion and what actually happens to the brain when one experiences a concussion; how our soldiers can develop PTSD from blast wave injury, the history of the nasal release technique and how it got its start. Then learn how to evaluate facial asymmetry, and examine eye restrictions. Following this each student is taught how to do the procedure on themselves to decrease their own cranial suture impaction.

You’ll find out what the normal treatment is for concussion and what it should be with the nasal release technique, vestibular rehab, cranial osteopathic manual medicine, eye strengthening exercises, and lymphatic drainage.  Dr. Jenny, Dr. Cortes and Cynthia Stein, PT, MEd will share their upcoming research project to evidence base this remarkable procedure.
